UCLG Culture Summit to be held in Jeju
1,000 attendees expected May 10-13

The United Cities and Local Governments Culture Summit will be May 10th to 13th at the Jeju Culture and Arts Center and other locations in old Jeju City.

The provincial government and the UCLG are co-hosting the summit, which is entitled “Commitments and Actions for Culture in Sustainable Cities.” Organizers expect some 1,000 participants, including representatives of international organizations and cultural experts from around the globe.

The poet (고은) Ko Un will give the keynote address. The sessions that follow will explore the intersection of cities and culture as well as other topics.

Attendees will also tour five areas of the old city, including (칠성로) Chilsung-ro Square, (목관아) Mokgwana, and the (김만덕) Kim Man-duk Memorial Hall.

세계지방정부연합 문화정상회의 5월 제주 개최

세계지방정부연합 세계문화정상회의가 오는 5월 10일부터 13일까지 제주도문예회관과 원도심 일대에서 개최됩니다.

제주도와 세계지방정부연합이 주최하는 이번 회의는 '지속가능한 도시 문화를 위한 약속과 실천'을 주제로 국제기구 관계자와 국제문화전문가 등 1천여 명이 참석합니다.

행사 첫날 고은 시인의 기조연설을 시작으로 도시와 문화 등을 주제로 한 다양한 프로그램이 마련됩니다.

또 칠성로 광장과 목관아, 김만덕기념관 등 5개 코스를 도는 원도심 투어도 운영될 예정입니다.
