Consumer sentiment weakens
Locals foresee tougher times in months to come

Consumer sentiment in Jeju is falling.

According to the Jeju branch of the Bank of Korea, the March consumer sentiment index is 95.2. It has been below the benchmark 100 since last October.

Most people surveyed thought that house values and earnings would tumble, so the six month outlook for the CSI tumbled two percentage points to a score of 93.

A score below 100 means consumers are generally pessimistic about the economy.

제주지역 소비자심리가 계속 위축되고 있습니다.

한국은행 제주본부에 따르면 이달 소비자심리지수는 95.2로 지난해 10월 이후 5개월째 기준치를 밑돌고 있습니다.

앞으로 가계수입과 임금이 줄어들 것으로 예상했고, 6개월 후 생활형편에 대한 전망인 생활형편전망 지수는 93으로 2p 하락하며 부정적인 것으로 조사됐습니다.

소비자심리지수가 100보다 작으면 경제 상황에 대한 소비자들의 심리가 비관적인 것을 의미합니다.
