69th memorial service for April Third Incident
Acting president, governor among attendees

Acting President Hwang Kyo-ahn, other government officials, victims’ relatives, and influential figures from all walks of life took part Monday in the 69th memorial service for the April Third Incident.

Hwang said the best way to overcome a crisis is through national harmony and integration. He added that he hoped reconciliation and a sense of unity would be the drivers toward a new and bright chapter for the country.

Governor Won Heeryong asked the national government to focus on resolving outstanding issues related to the incident. Those include compensating victims, determining official lists of victims and survivors of the incident, recovering the honor of victims, and recovering the remains of those who were killed.

제69주년 4·3 희생자 추념식 봉행

오늘 추념식에는 비교적 맑은 날씨속에 황교안 대통령 권한대행을 비롯한 정부 인사와 유족, 도민, 각계 인사 등 1만여명이 참석해 희생자를 추모했습니다.

이 자리에서 황 권한대행은 추념사를 통해 위기 상황을 극복할 수 있는 최선의 길은 국민적 화합과 통합으로 우리의 국가역량을 극대화하는 것이라며 화해와 상생 정신이
대한민국의 새로운 미래를 열어가는 희망의 에너지가 되기를 기대한다고 말했습니다.

또 원희룡 지사는 배·보상 문제와 희생자.유족 심의.결정의 상설화, 수형인의 명예회복, 행방불명인 유해 발굴 등 남은 과제에 정부차원의 지속적인 관심과 지원을 부탁한다고 당부했습니다.
