‘Everything possible to resolve all April Third Incident issues’
Jeju’s representatives at National Assembly release joint statement

Jeju’s representatives at the National Assembly released a joint statement as part of Monday’s commemoration.

Kang Chang-il, Oh Young-hoon and Wi Seong-gon said they are praying that the victims of the April Third Incident rest in peace, and they offered their condolences to those they left behind.

The three lawmakers also vowed to stand firmly against any attempt to distort the incident. Finally, they said they would do everything they could to recover the honor of the victims, find the remains of those who perished, make sure everyone is properly educated about the incident, and resolve all other issues related to it.

제주출신 강창일. 오영훈. 위성곤 국회의원은 오늘 제주 4.3 69주년 추념일을 맞아 공동 성명을 내고 무고하게 희생되신 4.3 영령의 명복을 빌고 오랜 세월, 말할 수 없는 통한의 아픔으로 살고 있는 유족에게 깊은 위로를 드린다고 밝혔습니다.

특히 4.3 수형인에 대한 명예회복과 행방불명인에 대한 유해발굴, 올바른 4.3 교육 등 완전한 4.3 해결에 최선을 다하고 4.3의 역사 왜곡을 시도하는 행위에 대해 단호히 대처하겠다고 강조했습니다.
