35% less Jeju City land sold in Q1
6% fewer transactions compared to 2016

Land sales are slowing down in Jeju City.

City officials say 11,900 plots, covering nearly 8.9 million square meters, were sold in the first quarter. Compared to the first quarter of 2016, that’s six percent fewer transactions and 35 percent less land.

The market was hottest in eastern Jeju City, followed by Aewol-eup, Gujwa-eup, and Jocheon-eup.

City analysts say most of the sales were by people who actually lived on their land, due to measures enacted to prevent real estate speculation and a general slowdown in the real estate market.

제주시지역 토지거래 면적이 대폭 감소하고 있습니다.

제주시에 따르면 올해 1분기 토지거래량은 1만1900여 필지에 888만 5천㎡로
지난해 같은 기간보다 필지수는 6%, 면적은 35% 감소했습니다.

지역별로는 동지역과 애월읍, 구좌읍, 조천읍 순으로 거래량이 많은 것으로 조사됐습니다.

제주시는 부동산 투기 억제 정책과 부동산 가격 상승에 대한 기대 심리 하락으로
실소유자 위주의 거래가 이루어진 것으로 분석했습니다.
