Jeju City investigating cars that qualify for tax breaks
Vehicles that are undriveable or taken to junkyard qualify

Jeju City is investigating through May 12th cars for which taxes have been exempted or reduced.

Inspectors will determine whether the vehicles actually qualify for the tax breaks. They are if they are no longer driveable, or if they are deemed to be of no more use.

Vehicles that would otherwise qualify for the breaks, but have been seized or are collateral for mortgages, will be given the benefit when taken to the junkyard.

Last year, 13 undriveable vehicles and 334 that were in the junkyard qualified for the tax breaks.

제주시, 비과세·감면 차량 일제조사

제주시가 다음달 12일까지 자동차세 비과세와 감면 차량을 일제히 조사합니다.

이 기간에 자동차세 감면 차량의 적격 여부를 중점 조사하고 사실상 소멸.멸실 자동차에 대해서는 비과세 조치합니다.

특히 저당이나 압류 등으로 폐차말소등록을 이행하지 못한 경우에도 폐차장 입고일 이후부터 비과세 조치할 예정입니다.

제주시는 지난해 사실조사를 벌여 사실상 멸실 13대와 폐차장 입고 334대를 비과세 처리했습니다.
