Consumer prices in Jeju up 25% in 10 years
Compared to 2006, fresh food 62% more expensive

Consumer prices in Jeju have soared over the last decade.

The Honam Regional Statistics Office pegs last year’s consumer price index in Jeju at 101.29. That’s 24.7 percent higher than the figure from 2006.

In particular, fresh food prices skyrocketed 62 percent, while those for living necessities climbed 24 percent.

Sewer fees went up a staggering 76 percent, prices for agricultural, seafood, and livestock products rose by 54 percent, and industrial goods were 25 percent more expensive.

제주지역 소비자 물가가 10년 사이에 크게 오른 것으로 나타났습니다.

호남지방통계청에 따르면 지난해 제주지역 소비자물가지수는 101.29로 2006년보다 24.7% 상승했습니다.

특히 신선식품이 62% 상승했고 체감물가를 반영하는 생활물가지수는 24% 올랐습니다.

품목별로는 하수도 요금이 76%, 농축수산물 54%, 공업제품은 25% 상승했습니다.
