Jeju City population hits 485,000
Still growing, but at slower pace

The Jeju City population continues to grow, but it is doing so at a slower pace.

City officials say the tally hit 485,000 in March. That works out to about 1,900 new residents so far this year.

The average growth so far in 2017 has been about 660 new inhabitants per month. The corresponding figure from last year was 1,000.

This year, 770 taxpayers have been added to the rolls in eastern regions of the city, 560 in Aewol-eup, 410 in Jocheon-eup, and 150 in Gujwa-eup.

제주시 인구 48만 5천여명…증가세 둔화

제주시 인구 증가세가 소폭 둔화됐지만 꾸준히 늘고있는 것으로 나타났습니다.

제주시에 따르면 지난달 기준 제주시 인구는 48만5천여 명으로 지난해보다 1천 900여 명 늘었습니다.

이는 월 평균 660명 증가한 것으로 지난해 한달 평균 1천명이 늘어난 것에 비하면 증가세가 둔화된 것입니다.

지역별로는 동 지역이 770여 명 늘었고 애월읍 560명, 조천읍 410여 명, 구좌읍이 150여 명입니다.
