4 arrested in fruit sorter scandal
Allegedly got \600m in grants for new machines, then bought used ones

Following an exclusive report by KCTV about corruption in the agricultural sector, police have launched an investigation and arrested four suspects.

According to investigators, the four are employees of an agricultural corporation and a manufacturer of fruit sorters. They allegedly colluded to collect some 600 million won in government subsidies for new fruit sorters, but then actually purchased used machines and embezzled the difference.

경찰, 감귤 선과기 보조사업 비리 4명 입건

KCTV가 단독보도했던 감귤 선과기 보조금 비리와 관련해 경찰이 도내 모 영농법인 대표와 선과기 제조업체 대표 등 모두 4명을 입건해 조사하고 있다고 밝혔습니다.

경찰에 따르면 이들은 지난해 보조사업을 통해 감귤 비파괴 광센서 선과기를 들여놓는 과정에서 중고기계를 새기계처럼 속이는 방식으로 짜고 자부담금 6억여 원을 착복한 혐의를 받고 있습니다.
