Employment rate rising
Highest March figure since 2010

The Jeju employment rate is rising.

According to the Honam Regional Statistics Office, it hit 70.5 percent last month, which is 3.2 percentage points higher than it was in March 2016.

It is the highest rate in March since 2010.

By sector, employment was up 20 percent in construction, 11 percent in the service industry, and ten percent in the electricity and financial sector.

The unemployment rate fell 0.4 points year over year to 1.7 percent last month.

제주지역 고용률이 상승하고 있습니다.

호남지방통계청에 따르면 지난달 제주지역 고용률은 70.5%로 지난해 같은기간보다 3.2%p 올랐습니다.

이같은 고용률은 3월 기준으로 2010년 이후 가장 높은 것입니다.

산업별로는 건설업 종사자가 20% 증가했고 사업·개인 서비스업 11%, 전기·금융업 종사자는 10% 늘었습니다.

실업률은 1.7%로 지난해보다 0.4%p 하락했습니다.
