Memorial event Monday for Sewol Ferry tragedy
Students will mark occasion with music, poetry, etc.

The provincial office of education will host a memorial event Monday to mark the third anniversary of the Sewol Ferry tragedy.

304 passengers and crew died in the incident. Most of the victims were students on their way to Jeju for a school trip.

The event is being held under the themes of hope and safety. It begins at 3 p.m. at the Jeju Student Cultural Center.

School clubs from around the island have prepared a variety of performances to mark the occasion, including orchestral, Nanta, and choral performances, as well as the reading of commemorative poems.

세월호 사고 3주기를 맞아 제주도교육청이 추모 문화제를 마련합니다.

제주도교육청은 오는 17일 오후 3시 제주학생문화원 대극장에서 '희망의 기억으로,
모두의 안전으로'라는 슬로건 아래 세월호 사고 3주기 추모 문화제를 엽니다.

추모문화제는 학교 동아리가 중심이 된 문화·예술제로 학생 오케스트라와 난타,
추모시 낭송, 합창 등으로 순서로 꾸며집니다.
