Discussion on amendments to April Third Incident Special Law
Representatives from a number of organizations met Wednesday

A number of people from different organizations met Wednesday to discuss amendments to the April Third Incident Special Law.

The meeting was hosted by the provincial government and the provincial council, and it was overseen by the committee for the 70th anniversary of the incident. Other attendees included representatives from the April Third Incident Research Center, legal experts, and academics. The participants discussed support policies to resolve outstanding issues related to the incident as well as amendments to the law.

They agreed that the special law should include provisions to compensate the victims of the incident and their relatives as well as provisions to restore the reputations of those who were convicted of various crimes during the incident.

제주도와 제주도의회가 주최하고 제주4.3 70주년 범국민위원회 등이 주관한 이번 토론회는 4.3 연구소 관계자와 법조계, 학계 전문가들이 참석해 4.3 해결을 위한
지원 정책과 특별법 개정 방향 등을 논의했습니다.

특히 4.3 희생자와 유족 배보상 그리고 수형인 명예회복 등을 위한 특별법 규정이 반드시 마련돼야 한다고 의견을 모았습니다.
