‘Jeju’s first bone marrow transplant from unrelated donor’
Halla Hospital announces success in treating leukemia patient

Halla Hospital representatives say it has become the first medical institute in Jeju to successfully perform a bone marrow transplant from an unrelated donor.

According to the hospital, a female leukemia patient was treated at the hospital from stem cells taken from a donor with no relation to her. Her condition improved enough so that doctors released her from the hospital.

다른 사람의 골수를 이식하는 수술에 성공했다고 밝혔습니다.

1차 항암치료를 진행했던 한 40대 백혈병 여성 환자에게 본인이나 가족의 것이 아닌 다른 사람의 골수, 즉 조혈모세포를 이식한 결과 상태가 부쩍 호전돼 최근 퇴원조치했다는 것입니다.

제주에서의 이같은 수술 성공은 처음으로 알려지고 있습니다.
