Island water meets quality standards
Samples tested at 17 filtration plants, 70 supply facilities

Inspectors say the water tested at the island’s water supply facilities has passed quality tests.

The provincial department of water and sewerage tested water from 17 filtration plants and 70 supply facilities through the end of last month. All tests for microbes, mercury, and other contaminants came back negative or within acceptable levels.

The province is widening the scope of the tests beginning in the latter half of the year. Inspectors will be measuring the levels of 130 contaminants. They have been monitoring 120.

도내 상수원·정수장 수질 적합

제주도내 상수원 수질이 기준에 적합한 것으로 조사됐습니다.

제주도상하수도본부가 지난달 까지 도내 정수장 17곳과 마을 상수도 70개소를 대상으로 수질 검사를 실시한 결과 미생물과 수은 등이 검출되지 않거나 기준치 이하로 나타났습니다.

제주도는 하반기부터 수질 검사 항목을 120개에서 130개로 늘려 관리를 강화합니다.
