Jeju Air discontinues international flights that connect with Jeju
Airline reportedly wasn’t earning enough, even with government aid

Jeju Air has discontinued all international routes that connect with the island despite possible financial support from the government for offering the service.

The provincial government says the airline was selected in February as eligible for the aid if an insufficient number of passengers took the flights. The company nonetheless canceled that designation.

Analysts say the routes didn’t make sense from a financial standpoint. Jeju Air discontinued a Jeju-Saipan route in February, and it looks like no new international service is planned.

제주항공이 국제선 취항 지원에도 불구하고 제주 국제선 노선 취항을 거부하고 있습니다.

제주항공은 경영상 수지 타산이 맞지 않는다며 포기한 것으로 전해졌습니다.

제주항공은 제주- 사이판 노선도 지난 2월 이후 중단해 현재 제주 기점 국제선은 전무합니다.
