‘Use and manage groundwater more efficiently’
Lawmaker’s proposal includes mandatory release of survey results

A lawmaker wants to release the results of basic groundwater surveys in order to more efficiently use and manage the resource.

Democratic Party representative Kang Chang-il said on Sunday that he had proposed an amendment that would make the publication of the results mandatory.

It also stipulates active research to determine the appropriate levels of development and usage of groundwater.

The national government began such surveys in 1992. Because of budget constraints, only 71 percent of them have been completed.

발의했다고 밝혔습니다.

개정안은 지하수 기초조사 이후 결과 공표 의무화와 조사 활성화를 통한 적정한 지하수 개발과 이용을 주요 내용으로 하고 있습니다.

정부는 지난 1992년부터 지하수 기초조사 사업을 추진해오고 있지만 예산 부족 등의 이유로 현재까지 완료율은 71%에 그치고 있습니다.
