Preparations for Typhoon Noru
Authorities checking disaster prone areas, drainage pipes, etc.

The provincial government has enacted its emergency service system as Typhoon Noru continues its northerly course toward the island.

Authorities are out inspecting areas that are deemed vulnerable to storm damage. That list includes coastal areas, steep slopes, and areas that have been cleared of trees.

They are also checking drainage pipes and flood control facilities, including pumps installed in areas where the roads and sewage systems were recently flooded after some serious downpours.

Provincial officials are asking that all homeowners ensure that there are adequate drainage ditches near their houses. They also want billboards, livestock pens, greenhouses, and fish farms made as safe and secure as possible.

제5호 태풍 노루가 북상하면서 제주특별자치도가 비상근무체제에 돌입했습니다.

이에 따라 재해위험지구와 해안가, 급경사지, 절개지 등 취약지역에 대한 사전예찰을 강화하고 있습니다.

또 최근 집중호우에 따른 도로침수나 하수역류가 발생했던 지역을 중심으로 배수구 준설과 양수기 등 수방자재를 점검하고 있습니다.

제주도는 각 주택마다 배수로를 정비하고 옥외광고물이나 축사, 비닐하우스, 양식시설에 대해 사전 안전조치에 적극 나서 줄 것을 당부하고 있습니다.
