8 months in jail for recruitment of foreign prostitutes
55-year-old had previously been caught for same crime

Jeju District Court Hwang Mi-jeong has jailed a man for eight months for his role in a prostitution ring that involved foreign women.

The 55-year-old defendant was found guilty of recruiting non-Korean women without work visas between March and September of last year.

In explaining its decision, the court pointed out that the defendant had been caught for the same crime at an earlier date.

외국인 여성 성매매 알선 50대 징역 8월

제주지방법원 형사2단독 황미정 판사는 지난해 3월부터 9월까지 취업비자가 없는 외국인 여성들을 고용해 성매매를 알선한 혐의 등으로 기소된 55살 위 모피고인에게 징역 8월을 선고했습니다.

법원은 피고인이 같은 범죄로 처벌받은 전력이 있고 출입국리사무소에 적발되고도
범행을 계속한 점등을 감안해 이같이 선고한다고 판시했습니다.
