대통령 직속 지역발전위원장에 송재호 제주대 교수

문재인 대통령은 오늘 대통령직속 지역발전위원회 위원장에
송재호 제주대 교수를 임명했습니다.

박수현 청와대 대변인은 오늘
"송재호 지역발전위원장은 학자출신 균형발전 전문가로서,
지역발전에 대한 높은 학식과 풍부한 경험을 겸비했다"며
"새정부 5대 국정목표 중 하나인 `고르게 발전하는 지역`을 구현하고, 국가균형발전을 이끌 적임자"라고 밝혔습니다.

박 대변인은 또 "송 위원장은
혁신도시, 행복도시 등 공간정책에 추가하여 문화·관광·교육·복지·사회서비스·일자리 등
사람중심 국가균형발전에 일조할 것으로 기대한다"고 말했습니다.

송재호 지역발전위원장의 임기는
오는 16일부터 2019년 8월 15일까지 2년입니다.

송재호 위원장은 올해 57살로
제주제일고등학교와 연세대학교를 졸업했으며
대통령직속 정책기획위원과 국가균형발전위원을 거쳐
참여정부때인 2006년부터 2년간
한국문화관광연구원장을 역임했으며
현재 제주대학교 관광개발학과 교수로 재직중입니다.


New Chief of Presidential Committee on Regional Development
 Prof. Song Jae-ho is named to the position

On Friday, President Moon Jae-in appointed Song Jae-ho, a professor from Jeju National University, to the position of Chief of the Presidential Committee on Regional Development.

According to Cheong Wa Dae spokesperson Park Su-hyun, Mr. Song has both deep knowledge of regional and balanced development, and has considerable experience in the field. He is therefore well-qualified to realize and lead balanced development in Korea, one of the 5 key policies of the new administration.

Spokesperson Park added that the government expects the professor to help promote balanced, person-centric development by working on culture, tourism, education, welfare, social services, and job creation. Professor Song will also endeavor to implement special projects, like the “Innovative City” and “Happy City” policies.

Mr. Song will serve as chief of the committee for 2 years, beginning next Wednesday, and ending on August 15th, 2019.

Song Jae-ho is 57 years old and graduated from Jeju Jeil High School and then Yeonsei University. He worked as Chief of the Korean Culture and Tourism Institute for two years back in 2006, after having worked as a member of the Presidential Commission on Policy Planning and the Presidential Committee on Balanced National Development.
