Agricultural crops being sold in Jeju City ‘safe’
Authorities find no harmful levels of pesticide residue

Local authorities say the fruits and vegetables being sold in Jeju City do not have harmful levels of pesticide residue.

City authorities tested 100 samples of crops being sold in large retailers and other shops for agricultural pesticides and heavy metals. All tested within the “safe” range.

They did find pesticide residue on one of the crops that was grown elsewhere in the nation, so the local inspectors informed their counterparts in that area.

The city performed similar tests on 220 fruits and vegetables last year. They only found one with pesticide residue and it, too, was grown in another part of the country.

제주시내 유통 농산물 잔류농약 '안전'

제주시 지역에서 유통되는 농산물이 농약에 비교적 안전한 것으로 조사됐습니다.

제주시가 올들어 지난 6월까지 대형마트와 농산물 소매점 등에서 판매되는 농산물 100건을 수거해 잔류농약과 중금속 등을 검사한 결과 모두 양호한 것으로 확인 됐다고 밝혔습니다.

다만 다른 시도에서 생산된 농산물 1건에서 잔류농약이 검출돼 해당기관에 통보했다고 덧붙혔습니다.

제주시는 지난해에도 농산물 220여 건을 수거 검사한 결과 다른 시도에서 생산된 1건을 제외하고 모두 양호한 것으로 확인됐습니다.
