The Jeju International Wind Ensemble Festival has drawn to a close. In addition to performances by world renowned musicians, amateurs got the chance to be evaluated by experts. Joseph Kim reports.

‘Addendum Concerts’ at libraries, galleries, cafes
The Addendum Concerts held at local libraries, galleries or cafes are events that islanders and tourists can easily access.

My performances have been rather formal. But here, the stage is very close to the audience. I enjoyed the intimacy.

The Addendum Concert is composed of 80 small concerts held at 30 neighborhood spaces.
The concert is popular among musicians. Many more than expected have applied for the participation in the smaller venues.

Many musicians want to play in the performances between August 4 and the 16, and many people and businesses offered free venues, as well.

"참여하시는 분도 많고 공간도 (제공하는) 참여가 많다보니까 8월 4일부터 16일까지 진행하게 됐습니다."
The Jeju International Wind Concours has been held for the same period of the Jeju International Wind Ensemble Festival. More than 200 wind musicians from 11 countries have participated in the concours.
The event gives opportunities to stand on stage for not only professional musicians but also amateurs.
