Eulji Exercises underway through Thursday
Disaster preparedness drills involve 5,000 people

The 2017 Eulji Exercises began Monday and are running through Thursday on the island.

Some 5,000 people from about 70 institutions, including the provincial and municipal governments, police, coast guard, fire department, and military are participating in the drills, which are aimed at preparing for emergencies ranging from natural disasters to the outbreak of war.

Part of the exercises include a civil air defense evacuation drill. Institution and organization representatives will join members of the general public for that, in order to be prepared for all sorts of crises and disasters.

21일부터 도 전역에서 '을지연습' 실시

전시와 재난 등 국가 비상사태에 대비하기 위한 '2017 을지연습'이 오는 21일부터 24일까지 제주도내 일원에서 실시됩니다.

이번 훈련에는 제주특별자치도와 행정시, 경찰, 해경, 소방서, 군 부대 등
70여개 기관에서 5천여명이 참가합니다.

특히 각종 위기와 재난발생을 대비해 모든 기관과 주민이 참여하는 민방공대피훈련과 주민 체험식 훈련으로 진행됩니다.
