Planning of Seogwipo Culture and Sports Complex begins
\20b facility set to open in 2021

Seogwipo will be getting a culture and sports center.

The city has begun drawing up a basic plan for the 20-billion-won facility near the Donghong-dong Community Center.

Officials will work out the details by next year, then buy the land and begin construction. It’s scheduled to open in 2021.

The center will include a small theater, classrooms, a swimming pool, and other amenities. It will replace the current civic center, which will be torn down.

서귀포 문화체육 복합센터 건립 추진

서귀포시민 문화체육 복합센터 건립사업이 본격 추진됩니다.

서귀포시는 사업비 200억 원을 들여 동홍동 시민회관 부근에 문화체육복합센터를 건립하기로 하고 기본계획 수립 용역에 들어갔습니다.

이어 내년에 도시계획 시설 결정과 토지 매입을 거친 뒤 공사를 시작해 오는 2021년 개관할 예정입니다.

문화체육복합센터는 문화예술 소극장과 교육실, 수영장 등을 갖추게 되며 앞으로 철거되는 시민회관 기능을 대체하게 됩니다.
