Financial assistance for elderly ‘haenyeo’
Up to \200,000 monthly beginning September

Elderly haenyeo will become eligible next month for monetary support from the government.

Jeju City is accepting the applications for the assistance at local government offices.

It is available to diving women over the age of 70 who are registered Jeju residents and who have an official record of working as haenyeo.

Those aged 70 to 79 will receive 100,000 won per month. Anyone at least 80 years old will get 200,000 won.

The first assistance will be provided September 11th.

내달부터 고령해녀 수당 지원…월 최고 20만원

다음달부터 고령해녀들에 대한 소득보전 차원의 수당 지원이 이뤄집니다.

제주시는 이번주부터 고령해녀 소득보전 지원사업에 따른 신청.접수를
읍면동 주민센터에서 받고 있다고 밝혔습니다.

신청 자격은 70살 이상 제주도에 주소를 둔 조업 실적이 있는 현직 해녀입니다.

고령해녀 수당은 70살 이상은 매달 10만원, 80살 이상은 20만원으로 다음달 11일 쯤 첫 지급될 예정입니다.
