Province to increase water supply for mid-slope villages
5 more wells to be dug by next May

The provincial government will increase the water supply for the villages on the mid-slope of Hallasan Mountain that often suffer from a lack of water.

It will dig another five standard wells around the Eoseungsang Reservoir by next May. That will boost the supply by 3,200 tons a day. There are currently 19 wells in the region, supplying 9,500 tons daily.

The reservoir supplies 18,000 tons of water daily to 29 mid-mountain villages. That is insufficient when enough rain doesn’t fall to replenish supplies.

제주특별자치도가 고질적인 급수난을 해결하기 위해 중산간 대체수원을 확충합니다.

이를 위해 지금까지 어승생 저수지 주변에서 하루 9천 500톤의 용수를 공급할 수 있는 관정 19정에 이어 내년 5월까지 하루 3천 200톤 규모의 5정을 추가 개발합니다.

현재 어승생 저수지는 중산간 29개 마을에 하루 1만 8천톤의 용수를 공급하지만
강우량이 적을때마다 물 공급에 차질을 빚고 있습니다.
