Renovation of Chusa Memorial Hall complete
Museum will reopen this week

The provincial World Natural Heritage office will reopen a renovated Chusa Memorial Hall this week.

Workers gave the outside of the building a facelift and they redesigned the permanent exhibition hall to help visitors better understand the museum’s namesake, the calligrapher Chusa Kim Jeong-hui, and his exile to Jeju.

The office changed about 30 of Chusa’s creations and it added a photoprint called “Wintry Days” from a Japanese researcher of Chusa named Fujitsuka Chikashi.

추사관 보수정비 마무리…특별전 개최

제주특별자치도 세계유산본부가 추사관에 대한 보수정비 공사를 마치고 이달 말 재개관할 예정이라고 밝혔습니다.

이번 보수 공사에서는 건물 외벽 뿐만 아니라 추사 선생의 제주 유배에 대한
역사적 고찰을 할 수 있도록 상설 전시관도 새롭게 재구성됐습니다.

세계유산본부는 재개관에 맞춰 추사의 작품 등 30여 점을 교체한데 이어
일본의 추사 연구가였던 후지츠카 치카시의 세한도 영인본도 전시할 예정입니다.
