Fishermen hauling in tons of hairtail
Increase in catch leads to 30% drop in prices

Fishermen are hauling in a lot of hairtail from local waters.

According to the province, this year’s consignment sales for the fish at provincial Suhyup offices through the end of last month hit 10,627 tons and 152.4 billion won. That’s more than double the amount of fish and it’s 57 percent more monetarily.

The increase in the catch has led to falling prices. The average is down 30 percent over the last year to 10,700 won per kilogram.

제주 은갈치 풍년 속 가격 하락

제주 연근해에서 갈치 어획량이 큰 폭으로 증가하고 있습니다.

제주특별자치도에 따르면 올들어 지난 달말까지 도내 수협에서의 갈치 위판물량과 위판액은 1만627톤에 1천524억원으로 나타났습니다 이같은 위판물량은 지난해보다 갑절이상, 위판액은 57% 증가한 겁니다.

갈치 어획량이 크게 늘면서
가격은 평균 1kg당 1만 700원대로
지난해 같은기간에 비해 30% 가량 하락한 것으로 집계됐습니다.
