Education office teaching employees to combat ransomware
3-day training program this week

The provincial education office is training its employees in how to respond to ransomware attacks.

Ransomware is a type of malicious software that encrypts the files on a victim’s computer until a ransom is paid. Attackers who use it have targeted individuals, companies, and other organizations.

Because it has become more prevalent in recent years, the education office decided to train all its employees, including those at affiliated organizations, how to prevent and respond to a ransomware attack.

The three-day training program that began Tuesday is focusing on disconnecting networks and ensuring anti-virus and firewall programs are up-to-date.

사이버테러 '랜섬웨어' 예방 훈련 실시

개인이나 기업의 컴퓨터 시스템이나 파일에 침입해 중요 파일을 암호화하고 이를 복구하는 대가로 금전을 요구하는 사이버테러인 랜섬웨어에 대비한 훈련이 실시됩니다.

제주도교육청은 최근 랜섬웨어를 통한 해킹 우려가 커지면서 내일(5일)부터 사흘동안 교육청과 산하기관 전 직원을 대상으로 교육을 실시합니다.

특히 해킹 방지를 위해 네트워크 연결 해제와 백신 검사 등 대응 훈련을 실시하고 부서별로 평가할 계획입니다.
