October 2 designated designated one-off holiday
10 consecutive days of holidays begin September 30

The national government has designated Monday, October 2nd an alternative holiday.

President Moon Jae-in and his cabinet made the decision during a Tuesday meeting, saying they wanted to give Koreans ample time for rest and relaxation.

Workers now have ten consecutive days off. The period begins Saturday, September 30th, and it includes Chuseok, National Foundation Day, another weekend, and Monday, October 9th, which is Hangul Day.

10월 2일 임시공휴일 지정…최장 10일 연휴

올 추석 연휴 시작 전인 다음달 2일 월요일이 임시공휴일로 지정됐습니다.

정부는 오늘(5일) 오전 문재인 대통령이 주재한 국무회의에서 국민에게 충분한 휴식을 보장하자는 취지에서 이같이 임시공휴일 지정안을 의결했습니다.

이에따라 오는 30일부터 다음달 9일 한글날까지 최장 10일을 쉴 수 있게 됐습니다.
