Hwarang Exercises this week
Integrated defense drills

The Hwarang Exercises began Monday and will run through Friday on the island, with the aim of assessing integrated defense preparedness among civilians, the government, the military, and the police.

Participants include the provincial and municipal administrations, the Jeju branch of the National Intelligence Service, the Marine Corps, the provincial police, and the Jeju Coast Guard. The exercises began with an anti-terrorism drill. A disaster preparedness drill and a harbor defense drill are among the other training exercises.

The enemies in these exercises are being played by soldiers with red ribbons on their helmets. The provincial government is asking anyone who sees such soldiers to report them. That can be done by dialing 1-3-3-7 for the military, 1-1-2 for the police, or 1-2-2 for the Coast Guard.

오늘부터 2017 화랑훈련 실시

민.관.군.경의 통합방위태세를 점검하기 위한 화랑훈련이 오늘(11일)부터 오는 15일까지 제주 전역에서 실시되고 있습니다.

제주특별자치도와 행정시 국가정보원 제주지부, 해병대 9여단, 제주경찰청, 제주해양경찰청 등이 참여한 가운데 열리는 이번 훈련은 대테러훈련과 복합재난대응훈련, 항만방호 훈련 등으로 진행됩니다.

특히 훈련기간중 실제 대항군을 투입하게 되는데, 정찰모에 적색띠를 두른 군인을 발견할 경우 군부대 1337이나 경찰 112, 해양경찰청 122번으로 신고해 줄 것을 제주도는 당부하고 있습니다.
