Typhoon Talim to affect local conditions this weekend
Forecasters don’t expect direct hit

Forecasters are urging caution as Typhoon Talim looks like it will turn and head more toward the Korean Peninsula.

Talim is now a relatively strong mid-sized storm. It has a central pressure of 970 hectopascals and wind speeds at its center of near 35 meters second. It is roughly 800 kilometers east-southeast of Taipei, Taiwan and heading west-northwest.

It is too soon to determine the storm’s exact course, but forecaster say it will start heading our way Thursday and be at its closest point this weekend, when we can expect indirect effects.

According to Jeju Regional Meteorological Administration, Talim began affecting seas to the south of the island Wednesday and it will bring rain to Jeju this weekend.

제 18호 태풍 탈림이 북상 중인 가운데 한반도 쪽으로 방향을 틀 것으로 보여 이동경로에 관심이 쏠리고 있습니다.

태풍 탈림은 중심기압 970헥토파스칼에 중심부근 최대풍속이 초속 35미터의 강한 중형급 세력으로 타이완 타이베이 동남동쪽 약 800km 부근 해상에서 서북서진 중입니다.

태풍의 경로는 아직 유동적이지만 14일부터 우리나라로 방향을 틀어 오는 주말쯤 가장 가깝게 지날 것으로 전망됩니다.

제주는 내일부터 남쪽먼해상을 시작으로 태풍의 간접영향을 받겠고 주말은 비가 내릴 것으로 제주지방기상청은 예보했습니다.
