Island on emergency footing as typhoon turns north
Talim expected to bring heavy winds and rain

Typhoon Talim is taking a more northward track, so the provincial disaster response office has enacted emergency measures.

The office has ordered the Jeju City and Seogwipo municipal administrations, as well as other relevant organizations, to fully prepare for what is forecast to be an indirect hit. Those efforts include making sure everything is safe and secure and checking areas that are prone to storm damage.

Talim is expected to bring strong winds with it, so the office is urging everyone to ensure signs, cattle sheds, vinyl greenhouses, and other facilities are secured.

They are also asking area residents to keep an eye on the forecast and refrain from going outside to prepare ancestral graves for the upcoming holidays or to do other activities should the conditions become too rough.

태풍 '탈림' 북상, 비상근무체제 돌입

제18호 태풍 탈림이 북상하면서 제주도 재난안전대책본부가 비상근무체제에 돌입했습니다.

재난안전대책본부는 태풍으로 인한 위험요인을 없애고, 재해취약지역에 대한 예찰활동 등 태풍대비에 만전을 기해 줄 것을 관련부서와 행정시에 요청했습니다.

이번 태풍이 강풍을 동반할 것으로 예상되는 만큼 옥외광고물과 축사, 비닐하우스, 양식시설을 고정하는데 신경써 줄 것을 당부하고 있습니다.

또 기상특보를 예의주시하면서 태풍이 내습할 경우 벌초와 외출을 자제해 줄 것도 당부했습니다.
