Crackdown on waste disposal after Chuseok
\100,000 fine for first offenders

Jeju City authorities will begin after the upcoming holidays fining people who violate new waste disposal rules.

The city is hiring 170 people to monitor areas where rule-breaking is rampant. They will begin the crackdown October 10th.

Violators will be fined 100,000 won for bringing out waste or recyclables on the wrong day, mixing allowed with non-allowed waste, or disposing of waste or recyclables outside the designated time period.

A second violation will mean a 200,000-won fine, and a third, a 300,000-won penalty.

추석연휴 이후 요일별 배출제 단속

추석연휴가 끝나는 다음달 10일부터 재활용품 요일별 배출제를 위반할 경우
과태료가 부과됩니다.

제주시는 이에따라 생활쓰레기 무단투기 취약지를 중심으로 단속 보조원 170여 명을 채용해 집중 단속에 나설 계획이라고 밝혔습니다.

이에따라 요일별 배출품목이 아니거나 혼합해 배출할 경우, 배출시간을 지키지 않다 적발될 경우 10만원의 과태료가 부과됩니다.

이어 재차 적발될 경우 20만원, 3번째는 30만원의 과태료가 부과됩니다.
