October to become ‘Horse Tourism Month’

A Friday ceremony at Let’s Run Park marked the designation of every October going forward as “Horse Tourism Month.”

3,000 people attended the event. Participants included Vice governor Ahn Dong-soo, other politicians, local officials, and local residents. The designation ceremony began with a congratulatory speech and then a reading of the designation proclamation.

This year will be the first Horse Tourism Month. There will be a horse festival October 7th and 8th in (의귀리) Uigwi-ri, the hometown of Kim Manil, who is known for his donations of horses hundreds of years ago. The Gomaro Horse Culture Festival will then be held in Ildo-dong from the 13th through the 15th.

'말(馬) 문화 관광의 달' 지정 선포식 열려

매년 10월을 '말(馬) 문화 관광의 달'로 지정하는 선포식이 오늘(22일) 렛츠런 파크 제주에서 열렸습니다.

안동우 제주도 정무부지사를 비롯해 정관계 인사와 마을 주민 등 3천여 명이 참석한 가운데 열린 선포식은 말 문화 관광의 달 지정을 축하하는 축사와 선포문 낭독 순으로 진행됐습니다.

말문화 관광의 달인 다음달 7일과 8일에는 헌마공신 김만일의 고향의 의귀리에서 말 축제가, 13일부터 15일까지 일도동에서는 고마로 말문화 축제도 개최됩니다.

말 문화 관광의 달 지정은 전국에서 제주가 처음입니다.
