Jeju City finalizes plans to feed children in need over holidays
Officials were concerned how nearly 4,400 would eat during long break

Jeju City has finalized plans to provide meals to children in need over the long Chuseok holidays.

Officials were concerned about how some 4,360 would eat over the break. The list includes children who normally receive three meals a day from the government or other organizations, as well as kids at local children’s centers.

Of most concern were 23 children who get all of their food from the city. Officials have created a communication network with local residents and women’s associations to ensure that they are fed over the long holidays.

City authorities will monitor the situation during the break to make sure the children are eating well.

제주시가 추석 연휴기간 결식 우려가 있는 아동을 대상으로 급식지원 대책을 마련합니다.

지원 대상은 현재 조식과 석식, 중식 지원대상자와 지역아동센터 이용 아동 등 모두 4천 360여 명입니다.

제주시는 특히 조.석식 지원대상 아동 23명에 대해서는 급식 제공이 가능한 주민이나 부녀회 등과 비상연락체계를 구축할 계획입니다.
