Tens of thousands of arrivals daily

Chuseok holiday travel is in full swing, with the island welcoming tens of thousands of visitors daily.

On the first day of travel, Friday, some 45,000 people arrived, and that was despite the temporary closure of an airport runway.

With the addition of Hangeul Day, two weekends, and an official one-off holiday, this year’s Chuseok break extends for 11 days for some people. Jeju is expecting around 518,000 homecomers and visitors over the period.

Wednesday is Chuseok Day, and authorities project over 50,000 arrivals that day, alone.

내일부터 추석연휴…본격 귀성행렬 시작

내일부터 시작되는 추석 연휴를 앞두고 본격적인 귀성행렬이 시작됐습니다.

제주공항 활주로가 한때 패쇄되는 혼란속에서도 오늘 하루에만 귀성객과 관광객 4만 5천여명이 제주를 찾았습니다.

이번 추석 연휴는 한글날과 임시공휴일 등으로 최대 11일 동안 이어지면서,
이 기간동안 제주를 찾는 귀성객과 관광객은 51만 8천여명이 될 것으로 예상됩니다.

추석 당일인 10월 4일은 5만여명이 입도해 귀성행렬이 절정을 보이겠습니다.
