This year marks the 25th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic ties between South Korea and China, and the 10th anniversary of UNESCO’s designation of Jeju as a World Natural Heritage Site.

In celebration of these anniversaries, the Korea-China Art Exchange Exhibition is showing paintings by artists from the two countries.

Visitors appreciate the painting of Seongsan Sunrise Peak.

A Chinese artist visited the peak a few years ago and moved its beauty to his canvas hoping to share it with the world.

[slug] Korea-China Exhibition - to Oct. 20 at Natural Heritage Center

In celebration of the 25th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic ties between South Korea and China and the 10th anniversary of UNESCO’s designation of Jeju as a World Natural Heritage, the Korea-China Art Exchange Exhibition is showing paintings by artists from the two countries at the Jeju World Natural Heritage Center.

[slug] Works by 12 Korean and Chinese artists on display

Works by 12 representative artists of the two countries are on display under the theme of “Island of Peace, Jeju, Becomes an Artistic Island”.

[slug] Actor Park Shin-yang joins exhibit

Actor (박신양) Park Shin-yang was also invited to participate in the exhibition. His works are open to the public for the first time.

The artists share their way of looking at the island of peace and its landscape. Jeju is becoming an international place for artistic exchange.

Amid the deepening conflict between the two countries for the deployment of the missile defence system, THAAD, the artists wish that the joint exhibition would help ease the tension.
