Mulyeongari Oreum National Garden project
Briefing Tuesday on results of feasibility study

Authorities are working on a plan to turn (물영아리) Mulyeongari Oreum, which is in Sumang-ri, Namwon-eup, into a national garden.

The provincial government held a presentation Tuesday at the provincial office. The Jeju Research Institute is conducting a feasibility study of the project, and representatives briefed attendees about what they’ve learned so far. They spoke about the ecological environment near the oreum, accessibility, and proposals to balance development with improvement to area residents’ living conditions.

Local officials will use the results of the study as well as the suggestions of local residents and experts to come up with a comprehensive plan to create the national garden by the end of the year.

남원읍 수망리 물영아리오름을 국가정원으로 조성하는 사업이 추진됩니다.

제주도는 내일(11일) 제주도청에서 물영아리오름 제주국가정원 조성을 위한
타당성 조사 용역 중간보고회를 갖습니다.

제주연구원은 보고회에서 물영아리오름 일대 생태환경과 접근성 그리고
주민 상생방안 등을 발표할 계획입니다.

제주도는 이번 중간 보고회를 토대로 전문가와 주민 의견 수렴 등을 거친뒤 연말까지 기본 계획을 수립할 예정입니다.
