AirAsia X to offer 4 flights weekly

Direct flight service between Jeju and Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia begins in two months.

Local officials say budget carrier AirAsia X will start offering four flights per week on December 12th.

Around 40,000 Malaysians had come to Jeju through August this year. Analysts predict that number will grow with the launch of the new service.

This is part of a broader effort by the provincial government to diversify the local tourism market by expanding international flight routes to Japan, Taiwan, Hong Kong, and elsewhere.

12월 제주-쿠알라룸푸르 직항 노선 취항

올 연말부터 제주와 말레이시아 쿠알라룸푸르 연결하는 직항 노선이 취항합니다.

제주도는 말레이시아 저비용 항공사인 '에어아시아X'가 오는 12월 12일부터 제주와 쿠알라룸푸르를 주 4회 직항 운항한다고 밝혔습니다.

올들어 지난 8월까지 제주를 찾은 말레이시아 관광객은 4만여 명으로 접근성이 개선되면 방문 관광객도 늘어날 것으로 예상됩니다.

제주도는 사드 여파 이후 관광시장 다변화 차원에서 일본과 대만, 홍콩 등으로 항공노선을 확대하고 있습니다.
