Road traffic survey October 19-20
Inspectors to monitor vehicle type and traffic by time, direction

The provincial government will survey traffic on major roads October 19th and 20th.

The Beonyeong and Ilju Roads are among the roughly 130 on which traffic will be analyzed. Inspectors will record the traffic over time and direction, as well as the types of vehicles on the roads.

Local officials will use the survey results to formulate a plan on how to maintain and manage the roads.

In a similar study last year, the busiest stretch of island thoroughfares was in front of the Road Traffic Authority in Nohyeong-dong. The area around the Sinpyeong Intersection was the least used major road.

제주도, 19~20일 도로교통량 조사 실시

제주도가 오는 19일부터 20일까지 이틀 동안 도내 주요도로에서 교통량을 조사합니다.

조사 대상은 번영로와 일주도로 등 130여 개 노선으로 지점별로 조사원을 투입해 시간과 방향, 차종별로 교통량을 조사하게 됩니다.

제주도는 이번 조사 결과를 바탕으로 도로 보수와 유지, 관리 정책을 결정할 방침입니다.

한편 지난해 교통량이 가장 많은 곳은 노형동 도로교통공단 앞, 반대로 가장 적은 곳은 중산간도로 신평 교차로로 조사됐습니다.
