Seogwipo orders 355 landowners to get rid of unused farmland
No agricultural activity on 430 plots

Seogwipo has ordered the owners of farmland in the city who have not used the plots for their intended purpose to dispose of their land.

Based on a 2015 farmland usage survey, Seogwipo officials ordered 355 people to get rid of their land because they still had not begun agricultural activities on it after the period during which they were required to do so.

430 plots must be sold. 90 percent of them are owned by people who don’t live in Jeju.

Authorities have given the owners six months to get rid of their properties. If they don’t, they will be charged a fine worth 20 percent of the appraised value of their land.

농지를 취득하고도 농사를 짓지 않은 소유자가 무더기로 처분명령을 받았습니다.

서귀포시는 2015년 농지이용실태 조사에 따라 처분 의무 기간이 만료된 농지 소유자를 대상으로 청문을 실시하고 아직까지 농사를 짓지 않은 355명에 대해 처분명령을 통보했습니다.

처분 대상은 430필지로 이 가운데 다른지역 거주자가 90% 이상 차지하고 있습니다.

처분 명령을 받은 농지는 6개월 내에 처분해야 하며 이행하지 않을 경우 개별공시지가의 20%에 해당하는 이행 강제금이 부과됩니다.
