‘Sora’s Castle’ turned into book cafe
Building in Jungmun Tourism Complex dates to 1969

Sora’s Castle, a building in the Jungmun Tourism Complex, has been repurposed into a book cafe.

Seogwipo officials say it was remodeled in a way to make it a comfortable place to enjoy reading. It had been used as a Jeju Olle information center.

It is stocked with 100 new releases for its grand opening. Business hours are 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. year-round.

The structure was built in 1969 and has since been recognized as a building worth preserving.

서귀포 '소라의 성' 북카페로 재탄생

서귀포시 중문관광단지에 있는 '소라의 성'이 북카페로 새롭게 문을 열었습니다.

서귀포시는 제주올레안내소로 사용해 온 소라의 성을 보수.보강해 시민 북카페로 개방한다고 밝혔습니다.

북카페는 신간서적 100여 권을 우선 비치하고 오전 9시부터 오후 6시까지 쉬는 날 없이 연중 운영됩니다.

소라의 성은 1969년 건축돼 보존 가치가 있는 근대 건축물로 평가받고 있습니다.
