Jeju remains free of bovine brucellosis
17th year without an outbreak

Despite a widening outbreak across the mainland, Jeju remains free of bovine brucellosis.

The Jeju Veterinary Laboratory collected and tested samples from locally grown cattle for the disease. All results came back negative.

The island has now remained free of it for 17 years.

Elsewhere in the country, authorities have confirmed that 447 animals at 34 farms have the disease.

전국적으로 소 브루셀라병이 확산되는 가운데 제주도에서는 감염된 소가 발견되지 않았습니다.

제주동물위생시험소는 도내 소 사육 농가에서 시료를 채취해 검사한 결과 모두 음성 판정이 나왔다고 밝혔습니다.

이에따라 제주는 17년째 소 브루셀라병 청정지역을 유지하게 됐습니다.

한편 타 시도의 경우 이달까지 34개 농가 447마리에서 브루셀라병이 발병했습니다.
