Muddy springwater in Seogwipo blamed on construction site
Contractor installs equipment to keep water clean

In August, KCTV reported on a natural spring in Beophwan-dong, that had become contaminated with mud, and Seogwipo officials now say a nearby construction project is to blame.

The city hired a company that specializes in groundwater surveys to determine the cause of the problem. Researchers concluded that the mud was coming from a construction site for multi-unit housing.

The contractor installed equipment to prevent the mud from seeping into the springwater and then resumed work on the project.

'용천수 흙탕물' 건축공사 때문으로 결론

지난 8월 KCTV가 보도했던 서귀포시 법환동 용천수 막숙의 흙탕물 오염은 인근에서 진행된 건축공사 때문인 것으로 결론 났습니다.

서귀포시는 지하수전문조사기관에 용역을 맡겨 정밀 조사한 결과 용천수 흙탕물 현상은인근 공동주택 건축공사로 인한 영향으로 판단된다는 결론을 얻었다고 밝혔습니다.

이에따라 해당 공동주택은흙탕물 유출을 막는 차폐 시설을 설치한 상태로
공사를 재개하고 있습니다.
