Kim Man-deok musical planned
Auditions later this month, performances in January

A musical is being produced about Kim Man-deok, a Jeju woman who lived in the late 1700s and early 1800s and who is known for her skills as a merchant and her generosity as a philanthropist.

Jeju City is accepting applications from prospective performers through October 20th. Auditions are scheduled for the 21st and 22nd in Seoul and for the 26th here on the island.

Experts from home and abroad will join to weave the life story of Kim into the musical. A December production press conference will be followed by January performances.

의녀 김만덕을 주제로 하는 창작 뮤지컬이 제작됩니다.

제주시는 김만덕 뮤지컬을 제작하기로 하고 오는 20일까지 문화예술인을 대상으로 공개오디션 참가 신청을 받습니다.

공개 오디션은 오는 21일과 22일 서울에서, 26일에는 제주에서 진행됩니다.

이번 공연은 국내.외 전문가들이 참여해 김만덕의 인생 스토리를 뮤지컬로 풀어내게 되며 오는 12월 제작 발표회에 이어 내년 1월 본 공연을 선보일 예정입니다.
