200+ students in Jeju absent from school for over one week in H1

In the first half of the year, over 200 local students had over one week of unexcused absence from school.

According to data the Ministry of Education submitted to national assembly member Kim Byeong-wook, the list includes 39 elementary students, 86 middle school students, and 102 high school students, for a total of 227.

The Jeju office of education requested investigations into seven of those students. One remains unaccounted for.

올 상반기 일주일 이상 연속해 무단 결석한 학생이 200명을 넘는 것으로 조사됐습니다.

국회 교육문화체육관광위원회 소속 더불어민주당 김병욱의원이 교육부로부터 제출받은 시도교육청 장기결석 현황에 따르면 제주의 경우 올 상반기 일주일 이상 무단결석 학생 수는 초등학생 39명, 중학생 86명, 고등학생 102명 등 227명으로 나타났습니다.

제주도교육청은 이 가운데 7명의 학생에 대해 수사를 의뢰했고 1명은 여전히 소재를 파악하지 못한 것으로 조사됐습니다.
