Jeju City seeks national funding for urban renewal
Ildo 2-dong and Samdo 2-dong would be focus of work

Jeju City wants to revamp two neighborhoods - Ildo 2-dong’s (신산머루) Sinsanmeoroo and Samdo 2-dong’s Namseong Village.

The city will seek national funding from the land ministry for urban renewal projects in the two communities.

If the national government selects them for the project, Jeju City will spend 21 billion won, which includes money from Seoul, over the next four years on housing redevelopment, alley improvements, more parking, and other improvements.

The land ministry will announce its selections in mid-December.

일도2동·삼도2동 '도시재생' 사업 추진

제주시 일도2동 신산머루와 삼도2동 남성마을에 도시재생 사업이 추진될 전망입니다.

제주시는 이들 2개 마을을 '도시재생 뉴딜사업' 대상지로 선정해 국토교통부 공모사업에 신청하기로 했습니다.

이들 마을에는 주택 정비와 골목길 환경 개선, 주차장 확충 등 4년 동안 국비를 포함해 210억 여원이 투입됩니다.

공모사업 최종 선정 여부는 오는 12월 중순쯤 발표될 예정입니다.
