Third Saturday in September named ‘Jeju Haenyeo Day’
Coincides with International Coastal Cleanup Day

The provincial government has designated the third Saturday in September as “Jeju Haenyeo Day.”

At a meeting the haenyeo culture preservation council last month, provincial officials chose that particular day because it is International Coastal Cleanup Day.

The Jeju Haenyeo Festival will also be held on that day.

9월 셋째주 토요일 '제주 해녀의 날' 지정

제주특별자치도가 매년 9월 셋째주 토요일을 '제주 해녀의 날'로 지정합니다.

제주도는 지난달 해녀문화 보존 전승위원회 심의를 통해 세계 국제연안정화의 날인 매년 9월 셋째주 토요일을 '제주 해녀의 날'로 지정한다고 밝혔습니다.

또 제주 해녀축제도 해녀의 날에 맞춰 개최하기로 결정했습니다.
