1. Province prepares to welcome more Chinese tourists

The provincial government is getting ready to welcome more Chinese tourists as the Korea-China relationship shows signs of improving.

Local officials are meeting Monday with tourism industry representatives to discuss how to get rid of low-quality and cheap tour packages for Chinese and how to resolve problems related to commissions.

They also plan to finalize marketing efforts designed to attract school trips and individual tourists from China.

Finally, local representatives will be heading to China for presentations on what the island has to offer as a tourist destination.

한중 관계가 개선 조짐을 보이면서 제주도가 후속조치를 준비하고 있습니다.

제주특별자치도는 오는 6일 관광업계와 대중국 저가관광 근절과 송객수수료 문제 등 제도개선 방안을 논의하는 대책회의를 개최합니다.

또 내년 2월까지 중국 수학여행단과 개별관광객 유치를 위한 홍보 마케팅에 나설 계획입니다.

이와 함께 중국 현지에서 개별관광객 설명회도 잇따라 마련할 예정입니다.
