Jeju horses moved to winter pastures
Will stay at Jeju Provincial Livestock Institute until end of April

With winter just around the corner, local authorities have brought the Jeju horses down from the mountain to their winter pastures.

The Jeju Provincial Livestock Institute Friday finished moving the 80 or so animals from their pasture on the 5.16 Road down to the institute. The Jeju horse is a designated natural monument.

They will stay there for the winter months, and then be moved back up the mountain around the end of April.

마방목지에 있던 천연기념물 제주마가 겨울철을 앞두고 오늘부터 축산진흥원으로 옮겨집니다.

제주특별자치도 축산진흥원은 오늘을 시작으로 내일까지 5.16도로변 방목지에 있는 제주마 80여 마리를 축산진흥원에 있는 제주마 보호구역으로 이동합니다.

제주마들은 진흥원에서 겨울을 보내고 내년 4월말 쯤 다시 마방목지에 방목됩니다.
